Follow a JOB SEARCH PROCESS that works!!

I wrote this post below about a year ago, but it's exactly what still works today.
Read through it and think about the steps you're taking to target that job you want.
What step can you try and apply that you're not taking right now?

SHE GOT THE JOB! But how??
Here's the quick and simple process I follow with my clients. It will work for you, if you follow it.

For starters, I got her to write up a list of companies we could target - but one, she said, she'd love to get but she didn't fit the qualifications. So I told her, let's go for that! Yup, she thought I was crazy, but here's what we did.

1. I found her a direct email to the hiring manager - I have over 5000 social network connections, so that helps!
2. We researched and learned about the company's goals and mission and used that to update her resume and fashion the perfect email to him.
3. We connected with his team online and followed up consistently for three weeks, using a direct connection we found.
4. He finally got back to us and said "Give me a call tomorrow afternoon!"
5. We prepped her for the call as if it were an interview, and boom, 2 weeks later she got an offer!! :)

She couldn't believe it worked! No degree, no direct experience in the role, but we were able to sell her related experience, her skills, and her willingness to do what it takes to take the position to the next level.
This is how finding and getting your dream job is done these days...a process, persistence, and a willingness to fearlessly do what it takes.
